Exchange of knowledge and practices

The aim of the first workshop is to familiarize the participants with the firefighting techniques on-board large vessels. The second workshop aims to introduce different maritime pollution clean-up methods of the sea and the coast. Another objective is to bring together Adriatic countries in order to exchange their experiences, information on available equipment and team structures, and to establish best practices.

The results of the two workshops will be summarized and presented in the form of a Book of Proceedings that will be used in the exercise and in the follow-up.

Workshop on firefighting on-board large vessels and underwater activities

2-day Workshop for six representatives coming from each project partner country and representatives of European Commission (DG ECHO and EMSA) will be organized in Croatia 3-4 October 2017, Zagreb, presenting experiences, techniques, equipment and tools used in such an emergency by each partner country.

Expected results: Participants are made familiar with the firefighting techniques on-board large vessels and with the techniques, skills and equipment available for the performance of underwater technical tasks.

Workshop on response to marine and coastal pollution

2-day Workshop for six representatives coming from each project partner country and representatives of European Commission (DG ECHO and EMSA) will be organized in Slovenia, 5-6 December 2017, Koper, where the participants will share best solutions and practices in dealing with oil spills (detecting, cleaning and recovery operations).

Expected results: Exchanged knowledge and expertise among workshop participants and team members, presentation of most efficient protocols/practices used in each country.
