As a part of the EU project "ADRIATIC 2018", a workshop on "Firefighting on Large Boats and Underwater Activities" was held from October 03 to 04, 2017 in Tuheljske Toplice.
This workshop, along with a planned workshop on "Responses to the Open Sea and Coastline Pollution", is one of the projects activities whose outcomes will provide groundwork for the preparation of the civil defense field exercise in May 2018, at the location of Split Aquatics.
"ADRIATIC 2018" will serve as a platform which main goal is to include all available resources at local, national, regional and international levels, to identify possible disadvantages, areas of interests, and the most effective solutions to improve readiness and response in the events of a maritime accidents.
The participants of the workshop are experts from the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency, project partners from Montenegrin Ministry of Interior – Directorate for Emergency Situations, Fire Brigade of Podgorica and the Montenegrin Ministry of Defense and the Maritime Safety Department, partners from the Republic of Slovenia's Protection and Rescue Directorate alongside firefighters of the Koper harbor and divers of Underwater Rescue Services of the Republic of Slovenia.
Participants and project partners from the Republic of Croatia are the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Croatia, the representatives of DVDs Kaštel Gomilica, Public Fire Department of Rovinj and Rijeka, private company Portus et Navem from Split and the National Protection and Rescue Directorate.
After the workshop completion, the main planning meeting for field exercise will be held on the 5th of October.
