"Open sea and coastline pollution response" workshop was held in Portorož on the 5th and 6th of December 2017 within the project "ADRIATIC 2018", organized by the consortium partner, the Republic of Slovenia's Protection and Rescue Directorate and the project coordinator, Croatia's National Protection and Rescue Directorate.
The workshop gathered experts on the subject with the main goal of making a direct contribution to the development of field exercise scenarios, scheduled for May 2018, as well as the preparation of the Operational Action Manual in the events of incidents at sea, which will be one of the project's results.
In addition to the theoretical segment of the workshop, pollution and sanation simulation exercises were organized, as well as the visit to the Civil Protection and the Firefighting Department at the Kopar port.
Besides Slovenian expertsfrom from the University of Ljubljana (Faculty of Maritime Affairs and Transport, Slovenia's Protection and Rescue Directorate, Kopar harbor, Veterinary Clinic Kopar, DOPPS and La Fornitrice Trieste and representative from the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA), Croatia participated with experts from The National Protection and Rescue Directorate, DVD Kaštel Gomilica, Portus et Navem company and the consortium partners - the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure.
